
Following the success of The Night Chauffeur, Punchdrunk, again through Mother, were commissioned to devise another immersive performance that more people could participate in and that lasted for a longer period of time.
The result was The Black Diamond, a fusion of live cinema and theatrical experience. The show ran for six weeks and played to an audience of 3,000 who registered on-line for free tickets.
The episodic and complex narrative played over several site-specific locations around east London. The performance was wildly successful and has garnered numerous communication awards.
