General Manager

Responsible to: Senior Producer
Key relationships: Producers, Head of Production, Production Manager, Heads of Department and Deputies, Finance Managers, Finance Associate, Directors, Creative Associates and wider teams.
Responsible for: Associate General Manager, Producing and General Management Coordinators as designated; Front of House Manager, Bar Manager other Heads of Department as designated.
Contract: Fixed-term contract, one year (with opportunity for extension)
Salary: Up to £43,000 per annum, depending on experience


Punchdrunk is seeking a General Manager to oversee the day to day operation of
The Burnt City. This is a rare and exciting opportunity for an individual with strong management and leadership experience to take on a pivotal role in a world class theatrical production. 

Working closely with the Producers, the General Manager provides support to all departments, ensuring there are robust systems and processes in place. They will be a strategic thinker with a solid track record of managing large scale projects and/or companies in theatrical or broader arts settings at a senior level. They will be able to think critically and creatively and demonstrate outstanding problem solving skills. A collaborative and analytical decision maker, they will thrive at being proactive and strategic in a reactive environment; working closely with multiple Heads of Departs and wider teams to ensure the successful running of the show operation. 

The General Manager will possess excellent interpersonal skills and will be experienced in managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders, staff, audiences and general public; acting as an ambassador of the Company and striving to respond to the evolving internal and external landscapes informing  the delivery of the production.
